Coronary Care Unit
Welcome to our Coronary/Intensive Care Unit (CCU/ICU)
at Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center!
Did you know that 80% of the population today is touched by ICUs either personally or through family?
With that statistic in mind, we take great pride in serving our community by offering the latest in technology and services with hands on care that is second to none. Our CCU/ICU is a 12 bed unit that serves the critically ill as well as those with potential for critical or life threatening illnesses. Any condition that is at high risk for developing life threatening problems or requires complete management and therapy constitutes admission to our department. Our 12 bed unit consists of all private rooms located on the first floor with easy access to the Emergency Room, X-Ray, and Surgery. Patients rooms provide privacy and confidentiality, each room having their own bathroom, windows to allow patients to see night and day, various lighting from bright to dim, and glass doors to allow quietness with the ability for staff to observe and monitor. The rooms are aesthetically decorated to appeal to both men and women and provide calmness and softness to promote healing.
Our highly trained staff is dedicated to the special needs of our critical patients. In this day and age of "high tech", our staff takes great pride in bringing "high touch" to our patients and families recognizing the importance of meeting the physical needs as well as the psychosocial, spiritual and educational needs.
