Dear Patient:
We ask that you please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment to register. Outpatient Admitting is located in the rear of the building and is open Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. If your appointment is before 7:30 a.m. or is scheduled on the weekend, you must then report to Main Admitting located off the Lobby through the main entrance of the hospital.
IMPORTANT - You must have a written order/prescription from your physician.
You do not need to follow any special instructions for this examination.
An EKG (Electrocardiogram) is a valuable diagnostic tool. It is a standard test to record signals from your heart onto a paper strip. The pattern of these signals can tell the physician if your heart is normal at rest or if it is experiencing problems, strain or damage. An EKG is painless, with no risks.
DURATION:
1. An EKG takes less than 10 minutes.
2. Small patches will be put on your arms, legs, and 6 points on your chest. These will be removed after recording is finished.
3. The results will be sent to your doctor.
If you have any questions about your exam, please feel free to call us at 298-2134.
