Dear Patient:

We ask that you please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment so that you may REGISTER directly in the RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT. When you enter the front entrance of the hospital, this will be the first door on your left.

It is important that you do not have anything to eat or drink four hours prior to the time of your biopsy with the exception of your medication. PLEASE TAKE YOUR NECESSARY MEDICATION WITH AS LITTLE WATER AS POSSIBLE IF YOU ARE TAKING ASPIRIN,YOU MUST STOP TAKING IT 5 TO 7 DAYS PRIOR TO THE PROCEDURE.We ask that someone accompany you on the day of the procedure.

When you arrive, you will first have some pre-biopsy lab work drawn. Following your blood work, the radiologist performing the examination will explain the procedure and answer questions you may have. After the procedure, you may be asked to stay up to 2 hours for observation.
