IMPORTANT - You MUST have a written order/prescription for your physician or your test WILL NOT be performed.

PREPARATIONS FOR TEST

1. PREPARATIONS AT HOME:

a. Anticonvulsants may be continued.
b. Do not fast before this test; eat normally
c. Shampoo hair well the night before
d. No hair spray or hair oil
e. Stay up late the night before Adults: 4 to 6 hours sleep
Children: 5 to 7 hours sleep

f. No coffee or tea 4-5 hours before test

2. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES DAY OF TEST OR NIGHT BEFORE

3. DURATION OF TESTING:

a. Adults--About 2 hours
b. Children--2 to 3 hours

4. ALL PATIENTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. After test, patient will be unable to drive for a few hours.

5. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment so that you may register through Admitting.
