Dear Patient:

We ask the you please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment to register. Outpatient Admitting is located in the rear of the building and is open Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. If you appointment is in earlier in the morning or on the weekend, you must then report to Main Admitting located off the Lobby through the main entrance of the hospital.

IMPORTANT - You MUST have a written order/prescription from your physician or you test WILL NOT be performed.

Your doctor has ordered an exercise stress test to obtain information about the amount of oxygen your body uses with exercise.

PREPARATION:

1. To exercise safely, please wear sturdy shoes or sneakers and loose clothing.

2. Do not take breathing medications and don't smoke for 4 hours before the test.

3. Bring a list of medications and time of LAST DOSE.

DURATION:

Less than 1 hour.

You will walk until you tire or a predetermined heart rate is reached. Your heart rate and oxygen saturation will be monitored continuously.
