Dear Patient:
We ask the you please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment to register. Outpatient Admitting is located in the rear of the building and is open Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. If you appointment is in earlier in the morning or on the weekend, you must then report to Main Admitting located off the Lobby through the main entrance of the hospital.
IMPORTANT - You MUST have a written order/prescription from your physician or you test WILL NOT be performed.
In order to be tested in a safe and effective manner you must follow all instructions below.
You MUST have a prescription from your physician with you on the day of the test. Please bring a complete list of all medications with you on the day of the test.
If you are being tested in the morning:
No eating or drinking after Midnight the day of the test.
If you are being tested in the afternoon:
No eating or drinking at least three hours prior to testing.
Refrain from drinking tea, coffee or alcoholic beverages on the evening preceding the test, as well as on the morning of the test.
Please withhold any of the following medications:
Inhalers - 6 to 8 hours prior to testing
Aerosol treatment - 6 to 8 hours prior to testing
Short acting Theophylline - 12 hours prior to testing
Long acting Theophylline - 24 hours prior to testing
Cromolyn sodium (Intal) - 48 hours prior to testing
DO NOT smoke on the morning of the test.
Please wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes (flat, closed heel) to exercise in. You will be walking on a treadmill. No one-piece undergarments/girdles or any tight-fitting clothing.
Patients under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
NOTE: Please notify this department (298-2134) at least 72 hours in advance if appointment cannot be kept.
