Dear Patient:

We ask the you please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment to register. Outpatient Admitting is located in the rear of the building and is open Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. If you appointment is in earlier in the morning or on the weekend, you must then report to Main Admitting located off the Lobby through the main entrance of the hospital.

Diffusion tests are performed to determine how oxygen travels from your lungs into your blood.

PREPARATION:

Because smoking and some medications can alter your test results, we ask that you omit ALL breating medicine at least 4 hours before the test and refrain from smoking. Eating is permitted.

DURATION:

Plan on about 1/2 hour.
