Patient Care - Nursing
The Nursing Division at Mount St. Mary’s is proud to report that we remain committed to providing quality care to those we serve. Nurses here at Mount St. Mary’s are the largest component of the healthcare delivery team. We currently have 197 nurses on staff. They are supported by nurse attendants and other ancillary departments. Our nurses mainly are Bachelor Degree Nurses and Associate Degree Nurses, with a number of RNs possessing specialty certifications. We have nurses on staff with different skill levels who are able to mentor and coach other nurses in key areas of patient care. We ensure that the right skill mix is present for all our patients.
Mount St. Mary’s Hospital is extremely supportive to those nurses who return to school to further their education and/or to obtain specialized certifications. Our nurse vacancy rate is less than 3% and recruitment for the hospital has been very successful. We are fortunate to have many outstanding nursing schools in the region with high enrollment in their programs. We offer educational opportunity to the colleges in meeting their clinical and practical requirements. This is an ideal way to network with nursing students for future employment.
Our goal remains to service the community with best patient outcomes and the safest care everyone deserves. Here at Mount St. Mary’s we remain dedicated to the health and well-being of all who enter our facility.
I hope you will give us the opportunity to care for you and your family.
Barbara A. Bucci, RN, BSN
Vice President of Patient Care Services.
