Laboratory Supervisor - Full Time Salaried Exempt. Supervises and coordinates activities in the clinical and anatomic pathology sections of the laboratory. Assignment to one primary group of laboratory subdepartments with rotation to remaining secondary subdepartments as necessary. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Maintains good relations with patients, medical staff and other departments as well as other hospitals that use services. Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation as appropriate to the ages of patients served, based on the area of clinical practice.
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree. Six (6) years in clinical laboratory setting or equivalent. Medical Technology or equivalent necessary. Currently licensed by New York State Department of Education as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. Eight (8) to ten (10) years experience in the laboratory preferred. ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) registry preferred. Supervisory experience required.
