How Do I Become a Volunteer?
It is easy to volunteer.
- Fill out a volunteer application, call (716) 298-2144 and we'll send you one.
- Indicate what you'd like to do- we'll try to match your interests and our needs.
- Have a personal interview
- Complete the medical assessment
- Attend volunteer orientation
What are the major volunteer groups at Mount St. Mary's?
- American Red Cross Volunteers
These are men and women who belong to the American Red Cross and are assigned to the volunteer program at Mount St. Mary's. They perform various duties throughout the Hospital. More information is available from the American Red Cross at (716) 285-6938, or by calling (716) 298-2144.
- Mount St. Mary's Volunteers
These are men and women who wish to provide service to the community by volunteering. They serve in many capacities. For more information call (716) 298-2144.
- St. Francis Guild Volunteers
Women of all ages and walks of life are members of the auxiliary of Mount St. Mary's. The Guild operates the Gift Shop and sponsors major fund raising events throughout the year. In 1999 they donated $67,000 to the Hospital for the new DEXA Scanner. Guild members also volunteer throughout the Hospital. To become a member call (716) 298-2144.
- Junior Volunteers
Junior Volunteers are young men and women ages 14 to 17 who volunteer during the summer and the school year. Applications can be obtained by calling (716) 298-2144.
- Student Volunteers
Student volunteers are high school or college students who need volunteer hours as part of their course of study at school. They are assigned to a various clinical departments. For more information call (716) 298-2144.
- The Board of Associates
A group of 30 community business men enthusiastically support the Hospital through community relations and education activities and fundraising events such as the Annual Pro-Am Golf Classic, Pancake Breakfast and Tom Hewitt Scholar Athlete Awards Dinner. For more information call (716) 298-2143.
